BTHVN2027

"oh, how wonderful it is to live life a thousand times over –", wrote Beethoven in November 1801 to his friend Franz Gerhard Wegeler in Bonn. Although he was not to be granted this, for Beethoven died in Vienna on 26 March 1827, he lives on through his music and continues to fascinate us to this day, both as an artist and as a human being. "To mark the 200th anniversary of his death, we want to present a particularly vibrant Beethoven. We are marking the anniversary under the motto BTHVN2027 with a host of exemplary, innovative and inspiring projects designed to encourage people to engage deeply with the Bonn-born composer," promises Malte Boecker, Director of the Beethoven-Haus. The special anniversary events are financially supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
